Through its approach to reducing real water losses, a small Texas utility demonstrates how it uses satellite data technology, innovation, and smart planning to benefit itself and its customers.
New Braunfels, Texas is located in the greater San Antonio area. When the city’s water utility, New Braunfels Utilities (NBU), decided to cut its nonrevenue water (NRW) losses in 2014, it embarked on a five-year zone-leak monitoring program using various technologies to conduct a full-system, traditional boots-on-the-ground zone monitoring survey between 2014 and 2018.
