Prof. Dan Blumberg brings world-class expertise in remote sensing, synthetic aperture radar, and satellite-based Earth Observation. A full Professor at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Dan serves as Vice President for Regional and Industrial Development and directs the Earth and Planetary Image Facility. He also served as Chairman of the Israel Space Agency, has been principal investigator on numerous remote sensing projects for the Israel Space Agency and the German Space Agency’s TerraSar-X mission, and led the successful BGUSat cubesat mission in 2017. He founded BGU’s Green Campus initiative, positioning the university among the most environmentally conscious in the world. In 2016, he was elected to the International Academy of Astronautics. Dan holds a Ph.D. from Arizona State University in Planetary and Earth Sciences.
