Customer Success Manager – North America

ASTERRA uses synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data from satellites and aircraft platforms to detect underground soil moisture, with applications for water utility and transportation infrastructures, as well as the property management industry. ASTERRA’s unique technology allows for identification of leaks in water systems via satellite imaging technology. As the Customer Success Manager, you will actively support the execution and renewal of ASTERRA projects. This position reports to the Director of Customer Success. Location is San Diego, USA, however remote is an option.

Direct responsibilities
  • Managing portfolio of accounts and projects from contract signing to execution and value reporting.
  • Manage and support the onboarding of new clients, executing demonstration and tutorials of online platforms & applications.
  • Actively working to ensure adoption of technology through in field support and training of leak detection teams utilizing ASTERRA’s technology and best practices.
  • Delivering project kickoff meetings with multiple stakeholders including high level managers and board members.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction activities to achieve target success rates and annual contract renewals.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to report voice of customer and product improvements.
  • Develop and communicate product performance through written reports and PowerPoint presentation to multiple stakeholders.
  • Monitoring customer satisfaction through regular cadence of customer meetings.
  • Ensuring minimal churn through customer renewal by proof of value.
Successful Candidate Must Have
  • Ability to travel extensively within the United States to meetings, fieldwork, conferences and pursue the renewal of ASTERRA projects (30-50% travel).
  • Ability to capture observations and provide summary and proof of value via written reports and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Interpersonal skills for both written and verbal communication with the ability to collect data, report, and present information to all levels of an organization.
  • Minimum of 1 – 2 years of experience in similar position with proven sales record, educational experience, or technology training.
  • Ability to develop and define work plans and set goals (aggressive and reachable).
  • Strong leadership skills with the capability to work independently with little oversight.
  • Detail focus to read and understand contract scope and schedule to ensure quality on-time deliverables as well as accurately monitor and manage database with data collected by field personnel.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Able to perform duties in outdoor weather conditions, daily fieldwork that may include standing and walking.
Additional Considerations
  • Experience working with various acoustic leak detection devices (listening sticks, ground mics, and various correlator technologies) is a plus.
  • Understanding of industrial level water loss challenges is a bonus. Technological aptitude in a mature business where innovation is both desired and resisted.
  • Experience working with public sector specifically water.
  • Project Management Experience.
  • GIS skills are a plus (ESRI/QGIS).
